HJCA Server Cabinet Load Airflow and Deployment Guide
The HJCA is a floor-standing server cabinet platform documented in 36U, 42U and 48U heights, with 600 mm or 800 mm widths and depths from 800 mm to 1200 mm. The data sheet lists ventilation up to 80%, maximum series static loading up to 1200 kg, two-side cable management, split rear doors, double-section side panels and flat-pack availability. These features make the series useful as a planning example for projects in which equipment weight, airflow, cabling and delivery logistics have to be solved together.
A high-capacity rack should not be selected by height alone. The cabinet must carry the equipment through its structural frame, admit and discharge cooling air, preserve rear connector space, organize power and data cables, pass through the building’s delivery route and remain serviceable after it joins a row. The correct specification starts with the equipment schedule and ends with an installed-cabinet acceptance record.
Start with a cabinet load map
The HJCA data sheet states a maximum static-load capacity of up to 1200 kg. The words “up to” matter. This is a family-level maximum, not permission to place 1200 kg in every cabinet or on any shelf arrangement.
Prepare a load map before selecting the final model. For each device, record its mass, U position, mounting method and whether the load is supported by four posts, L-rails, a shelf or a manufacturer-specific sliding-rail kit. Add the weight of cabinet accessories, power distribution, cables and any equipment reserved for later phases.
The data sheet lists a 2.0 mm cold-rolled-steel frame and 2.0 mm vertical mounting rails. Side panels, the top cover, doors, horizontal beams and other listed sheet-metal components are generally specified at 1.5 mm. These material descriptions explain the documented construction; they do not replace a model-specific structural review.
A useful load plan should show:
- Total installed mass and the project design margin
- Concentrated loads on individual shelves or rail sets
- Heavy equipment positioned low enough to support stability
- Front-to-rear weight distribution
- Center-of-gravity changes when doors or devices are extended
- Floor loading, anchoring and seismic requirements where applicable

Use width for cable capacity and service clearance
The HJCA range includes 600 mm and 800 mm cabinet widths. Both can support a standard equipment mounting field when configured correctly, but the space outside that field is different.
A 600 mm cabinet can reduce the row footprint and may suit installations with moderate cable volume. An 800 mm cabinet provides more lateral room for vertical cable routing, power-distribution placement and separation between large bundles. The source structure also lists spacers for the 800 mm version.
Additional width should be assigned to a purpose. Mark the location of vertical PDUs, copper and fiber managers, grounding conductors, coolant hoses where applicable and the hand space needed for termination. If the extra width is not represented on the layout, it can quickly become unmanaged cable storage.
Select depth from the complete installed envelope
HJCA configurations are documented with 800 mm, 1000 mm, 1100 mm and 1200 mm depths. The 1100 mm option is shown for 800 mm wide cabinets; the source table does not list a 600 mm wide by 1100 mm deep model.
Cabinet depth must cover more than chassis length. A complete depth calculation includes:
- Front mounting clearance and door structure
- Equipment chassis and rail-kit length
- Rear connectors, power plugs and transceivers
- Cable bend radius and vertical transition space
- Rear PDU, cable rail or management hardware
- Airflow clearance and the rear-door envelope
Do not use the external depth as usable depth. Obtain the rail-position range and internal drawing for the proposed model. A 1200 mm cabinet may be appropriate for deep equipment, but it also affects aisle width, transport, center of gravity and floor planning.
Read the HJCA model code before comparing quotations
The data sheet uses the model code to combine width, depth and rack height. Its example, HJCA61248, describes a 48U cabinet that is 600 mm wide and 1200 mm deep.

Model-code logic is helpful for identifying a dimensional baseline. It does not describe doors, color, accessories, packing, rail position or project modifications. Those details belong in the configuration record and BOM.

A 48U cabinet offers more vertical capacity, but the 2355 mm documented overall height can create delivery and room-clearance constraints. Verify doors, lifts, ceiling services, cable trays, raised-floor height and the space needed to raise or assemble the cabinet.
Treat the 80% ventilation statement as a door property
The data sheet reports ventilation up to 80% and shows a curved perforated front door plus a double-open perforated rear door. A high perforation ratio can reduce door resistance, but it is not a cooling-capacity rating.
Thermal performance still depends on the server fans, room supply temperature, containment design, blanking strategy, cable obstruction and pressure conditions. Unused rack spaces can allow hot exhaust air to return to equipment inlets. Dense rear cabling can reduce the benefit of a perforated door.
For a project review, record:
- Airflow direction and maximum heat output for every device
- Required inlet temperature and allowable temperature rise
- Front and rear open-area requirements
- Blanking panels for unused rack positions
- Containment or room-air interface
- Locations where PDUs and cables may obstruct exhaust
Measure representative inlet temperatures during commissioning. Door perforation is one part of the airflow path, not proof that the installed rack can cool a stated kilowatt load.
Use split rear doors to protect aisle space
The HJCA standard-accessory schedule lists separate left and right rear doors in a double-section arrangement. Split doors need less swing depth than one full-width rear door, which can be useful in a restricted service aisle. They can also make one side easier to open while cables or adjacent equipment remain undisturbed.
The benefit depends on hinge position, opening angle, handle clearance and the row layout. Check whether the doors can be removed, whether vertical PDUs or cable bundles interfere with them and whether both leaves provide the access needed to replace deep equipment.
Organize power and data at both sides
The data sheet describes cable-management provision at two sides and includes two cable rails in the standard-accessory list. This creates an opportunity to assign separate vertical routes for different services.
A project may place power distribution on one side and network or fiber management on the other, subject to equipment port location and applicable separation rules. Large installations may need more detailed zoning for A and B power, copper data, fiber, grounding and monitoring cables.
Top and bottom wiring channels are described as closable. Select entry direction from the room infrastructure, then specify brush strips, edge protection, blanking or other closure details. An unused opening should not remain as an uncontrolled bypass for air or debris.
Plan mobility and final support separately
The documented standard configuration includes four heavy-duty castors and four feet, and the feature list says both can be installed. Castors can help position an empty or partially equipped cabinet. Feet provide a stable final support and allow leveling.
Do not assume that a caster’s rolling capacity equals the cabinet’s full static-load rating. Confirm caster capacity, threshold and ramp limits, floor condition, movement procedure and whether equipment must be removed before relocation. Once the cabinet is in service, anchoring and anti-tip measures may be required by the project or local rules.
Define the supplied accessory baseline
The source data sheet lists the following standard components:
- Top cover and two structural frame sections
- Curved perforated front door
- Four lockable side panels in a double-section arrangement
- Left and right split rear doors
- Front and rear locks
- Four vertical rails and six horizontal beams
- Two cable rails
- Four heavy-duty castors and four feet

The structure illustration also labels a fixed shelf, while the standard-accessory table does not list one as a standard line item. This is exactly why the BOM must control the order. Illustration callouts, option photographs and standard contents are not interchangeable evidence.
Additional shelves and L-rails, rack PDUs, cable-management components, fan units, grounding hardware and blanking panels should be selected from the installed equipment and stated explicitly.
Choose assembled or flat-pack delivery deliberately
Flat packing is listed as available. It can reduce shipping volume or make it easier to move a large cabinet through a constrained building route, but it transfers part of the assembly and inspection process to the destination.
An assembled cabinet can arrive square, door-aligned and ready for final equipment installation, subject to transport protection. It usually occupies more freight volume and requires a delivery route that can accept the full cabinet envelope.
A flat-packed cabinet requires a controlled assembly method. The receiving team needs:
- A complete packing list and labeled component groups
- Assembly drawing and fastener schedule
- Specified torque or fastening instructions where applicable
- A flat working area and suitable lifting equipment
- Checks for frame squareness, rail spacing and door alignment
- Grounding and bonding verification
- A final record confirming that all accessories were installed
Flat packing is a logistics choice, not a reduction in the required structural or quality controls.
Use carton volume to plan freight before the quotation closes
The HJCA table reports carton dimensions and cubic volume for each size. Listed CBM values range from 1.10 m³ for a 600 × 800 mm, 36U configuration to 2.71 m³ for an 800 × 1200 mm, 48U configuration.
CBM helps estimate container or truck-space use, but it does not provide shipping weight, stackability or container quantity by itself. Confirm whether the source values apply to assembled or flat-packed supply, how doors and panels are protected, whether pallets are included and whether packages can be stacked.
Delivery planning should also verify:
- Package length, width, height and gross weight
- Forklift and pallet-jack access
- Container-door and lift dimensions
- Warehouse stacking restrictions
- Moisture, impact and surface-protection method
- Labeling by rack number, room or deployment phase
Specify color and finish as controlled order fields
The data sheet presents black RAL 9004 and gray RAL 7044. A color code is only one part of the finish specification. Confirm gloss or texture, coating process, acceptable color tolerance, touch-up method and any project-specific corrosion or appearance requirements.
If a sample or previous order is the visual reference, record its approved finish and revision. Do not rely on screen color or a catalog swatch as the acceptance standard.

Before production or shipment, verify the following against the quotation, drawing and BOM:
- Series, U height, width and depth
- Rail positions and equipment mounting method
- Approved total and concentrated loads
- Front and rear door construction and hinge direction

- Power, data and grounding routes
